Project Activity

Sustainable Agriculture:

• Buy Fresh, Buy Local application Meeting, VCE, 12/10/07;
• Dr. Fred Kirscheman, Leopold Center for Sustainable Ag at JMU for talk 12/10/07;
• Lots of planning for Farmers Market Workshop held 12/4/07, including securing local foods featured lunch;
• Follow-up with VCE for further resources to offer after the Farmers Market Workshop, 12/17/07;
• Met with Miles Bobbitt, Ag Director, Augusta County to discuss projects 12/19/07;
• Food Summit meeting in Charlottesville to discuss Executive Order for VA Food Council, 1/4/08;
• Met at VCE to plan for Food, Farm, Community Conference 1/7/08;
• Sustainable Ag Committee teleconference to discuss Women in Ag Conference 1/9/08;

Natural Resources:

• Met with potential fencing documenter several times to discuss project 11/20/07, 12/18/07;
• Stream Fencing meeting for WSF at VCE, 12/11/07;
• Cost share BMP meeting with Headwaters on violations of fencing agreements, 12/14/07;
• Natural Resources Committee teleconference to discuss RWA Project 1/8/08;

Managed Growth and Land Protection:

• NFWF PIs grants teleconference 12/11/07;
• NFWF Targeted Watershed Roundtable Meetings, Staunton, 11/28-30/07; helped plan field trip;
• Market Maker Advisory Committee Meetings 12/14/07; sat in on Council review 12/8/08;
• Completed annual report for CBFN on fencing project and submitted 12/4/07;
• 1/9/08 met with WSF grants subcommittee to discuss applying for grants;

• Rapid Watershed Assessment North Fork, met with Nesha Mizel in DCR Staunton office, 12/10/07;
• Draft RWA for South Fork presented in Verona 12/17/07;
