Roy T. Stephenson, RC&D Alternate, Headwaters Soil and Water Conservation District, worked 38 years for The Daily News Leader in Staunton, VA.  He retired in 1992 as managing editor, then served eight years on the Staunton City Council – two of which were as vice mayor.  Roy graduated from Middlebrook High School and received a master of accounts degree from Dunsmore Business College.  He has served in the U.S. Air Force.  Roy is an Augusta County native and has served on the Headwaters Soil and Water Conservation District Board since 2000, representing the City of Staunton.  He operates a 120-acre beef cattle farm near Middlebrook.
